About
A beautiful set of twelve Belle Époque caned dining chairs, France, late 19th century. The chairs are of Louis XV style and the model is a so called "Chaise à la Reine" model. Each with a channelled and foliate-carved frame, the cartouche-shaped back with carved cresting centred with a flowerhead. The serpentine-fronted seatrail with further, conformingly-carved flowersprays; on elegant cabriole legs. The caned seats and backs are of good, ready-to-use quality. There are twelve yellow silk covered cushions included.
