About the Item
Set of 6 Slender Folding Chairs from "Silleria Malinche" in natural Beech wood with seats upholstered in red vinyl (original) from the 1960s. The design is very minimalistic with elegant curved shapes and functional metal joints. Each chair is very light in weight and space-saving while folded (only 4 cm. deep). Malinche was a large chair and furniture factory located in Monterrey, Nuevo León State, Mexico. Founded in 1895 for the production of fine chairs later expanded in 1909 to furniture manufacture. In the following years gained prestige as a provider of quality pieces with very modern designs using first-quality materials. A fire in one of Malinche´s factories and conflicts with the Workers´ Union brought its demise in the early 1970s. Some of Malinche´s products are considered collection pieces today and very sought after.
