Spanish Set of 8 Baroque Style Tooled Leather & Carved Wood Side Chairs
About the Item
A Spanish set of eight carved wood and tooled leather side chairs from the mid 20th century. These vintage chairs from Spain, designed with Baroque influences, each have high-arched top rails at their backsides, flanked within a pair of carved-wood shoulder caps. The leather back rests are have a hand-tooled trim which outlines the shape of the backrest, and there is a downward facing arch at the lower center. Seats are also fitted with leather and continue the hand-tooled trim them. Both the back rests and seats are embellished with oversized nail-head studs. The chairs are presented upon four wood legs; front pair are nicely-turned and have a carved wood stretcher bar connecting them across the front that features a flower medallion at center, flanked within a pair of pierce-carved hearts. The legs are further supported with an H-stretcher at underside of the chair, connecting each leg at their ankles. This set of eight Spanish armchairs, with their tool-leather and carved accents, will fill your dining room with the richness and romance of the Baroque period.
