Swedish Set of 8 Gustavian-Style Armchairs with Custom Upholstered Seats
About the Item
A Swedish Gustavian-style set of eight armchairs, with newly upholstered seats, from the mid 20th century. These mid-century chairs from Sweden each feature nicely curved top rails with pierced-splat backs (which take the form of the wheat-style backs), linear molded skirts with flower head carvings at each front corner. They are presented on rounded legs with fluted carvings, and braced just above their toupie feet with an H-stretcher. Custom painted finish is a palette of cream, taupe, and grey. Seats have been newly upholstered in a neutral Belgian linen. This set of Swedish Gustavian-style side chairs, with their newly upholstered seats and neutral colors, will be a lovely addition about a dining room table.
