About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this lovely Victorian Prayer chair with a mahogany frame and silk floral and bird detailed upholstery, part of a four piece suite As mentioned this is part of a suite, I have this chair, then a larger Library armchair, a small Library chair and then a 2-3 person bench, all with the same frames and same upholstery. I have included a picture of the suite, however, this auction is just for the one piece and the others are listed under my other items This one is a very good looking well-made find, the upholstery is simply stunning from top to bottom, being silk it’s as soft as they come, the birds and flowers are excellently executed We have deep cleaned hand condition waxed and hand polished the frame, it’s in lovely Victorian condition, the upholstery is mostly Fine, there's a slight mark to the seat base upholstery, the frame has some backwards and forwards play, I can have it doweled for £40 Dimensions Height 110cm Width 46.5cm Depth 55.5cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point. This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses. Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
