About the Item
A dramatic pair of large scaled barrel tub chairs with carved lion heads and realistic carved legs ending in paw feet. These extremely rare and stylish upholstered tub chairs are packed with personality! Heavily lions motif along with gorgeous carved wood details, superior quality and construction. Appropriately throne-like, the original was designed as a public gift to the immensely popular Duke whose military genius ultimately defeated Napoleon. Original circa 1810. Outstanding design is exhibited throughout the monumental form. Bold and striking, the pieces can be in any interior setting or capture the eye in any environment. Retail was $8,500+ for each chair.
