Pierre Cardin Bed in Solid Wood and Brass

About the Item

Stunning and very rare double bed complete with headboard and frame designed and produced by the great master Pierre Cardin in the late 1970s. The bed is made of finely crafted solid wood and then lacquered in glossy black, the headboard is made up of a set of curved wooden elements that give it a wonderful and very modern line, suppur it is more than 50 years old. They complete two circular brass elements on either side of the headboard, one of which has the signature "Pierre Cardin" imprinted on it. It is in excellent condition as pictured and suitable for all standard 190 x 140 cm bed frames. Pierre Cardin is one of France's most celebrated fashion designers, born July 2, 1922, in Sant'Andrea di Barbarana, Italy, but a naturalized French citizen. Cardin was a true pioneer, experimenting with geometric shapes, technical fabrics and introducing unisex clothing, thus helping to redefine fashion in the 20th century. In addition to his impact in fashion, Pierre Cardin also excelled in other creative fields, such as industrial and furniture design, where he created a number of distinctive and futuristic furniture and design objects.
