4 “Otto” Organic Wood Armchairs by Werther Toffoloni & Piero Palange for Ibis

About the Item

Very rare set of chairs by the designers Werther Toffoloni and Piero Palange, manufactured by Ibis. This model was shortlisted for Compasso d'Oro competition in 1981. They are made of solid bent steamed beech, except from the seat that is made of beech plywood, and they have a striking apperance due to thei organic shape that is equally beautiful from different points of view. Also, the details are impressive, as the result of a very clever assembly system that allow these chairs to be demounted easily, thanks to a metal screw under the seat. The chairs remain in their original conditions and finishing, with light patina on wood, wear consistent with age and use. Two seats have no signs of wear, two have minor wear. No impact damage, no stability issues. The chairs have had a microwave treatment to eradicate woodworms and the few woodworm holes have been fixed. Please note that the colors in the video are not reliable. The pictures show the correct color of the chairs. Chairs will be shipped demounted to lower shipping costs. Literature: - G.
