Set of six dining chairs, oak, leather, The Netherlands, 1960s
Distinctive set of chairs with a brutalist look composed of sturdy shapes and contrasting play of lines. The backrest captivates the eye by means of the triangle-shaped form with concave cutouts. The base has a linear and sharp-edged layout meticulously assembled of oak slats with a rectangular shape. The leather has developed a stunning patina as it aged over time. Its particular brutalist quality in conjunction with the usage of materials, and skilled craftsmanship, converge to create this splendid design.
