Spanish Brutalist Set of Six Dining Chairs in Iron and Leather
About the Item
Set of six dining chairs, iron, leather, stained beech, Spain, 1950s.
These distinctive chairs of Spanish origin reflect the stylistic traits of Brutalism. This movement is an architectural style started from the mid-20th century, aiming for raw, geometric and compromise-less buildings. Characterized by blatant concrete-skeletons with geometric patterns and Puritan materials. In decorative arts brutalism is highly represented in furniture design. The iron frame is comprised of a simple silhouette with clear lines. The seat is considerably large based on a grid pattern. The low backrest is executed in leather that shows a fine curve.
Please note that there are some minor constructive differences between the chairs, but these differences are not noticeable. These items are in used condition and show signs of wear and use common for pieces this age. Reupholstery can be done before shipping by our experienced craftsmen and -women in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece contains its value and is ready for the many years to come.
