Fine Set of 12 Louis XIV Style Dining Chairs in Fortuny Fabric
About the Item
A superb set of 12 Louis XVI style dining chairs with high shaped backs having a carved and ebonized frames and legs. Fluted tapering legs with gilt tops and feet and fine scrolled H-stretchers. Upholstered on the front and seats in a coral/gray Fortuny printed fabric with nail- head trim. The backs in a contrasting textured small pattern.
Measures: Height 43", depth 28", width 21", seat height 18"
Condition is fine with some expected scrapes to the bases and acceptable slight nicks to the finish, one chair with loss to the ebonizing on a front support visible when seen from below, (see photo) and a very small tear on one ear of one of the chairs. All of the aforementioned said for accuracy with the set presenting magnificently.
