About the Item

Late 18th century set of 6 painted & parcel gilt arm chairs, Italian. Neo-classical period & taste. Small beaded florets break the arch of the crest rails, the florets repeated at each front & side of the front legs & arm tip. Raised on turned, tapered, fluted legs with ring carved details. Caned backs, seats now upholstered in charming toile fabric. Remarkable layers of old paint, some losses as expected. 22" w., 17.5" d., 43" h. overall (16" seat height).
