They were produced in the late 19th Century, transitional Chippendale Federal style chairs. The mahogany patina has developed over time to the deepest tone. The set is solid and sturdy. A highlight is the contemporary twist afforded by the leopard pattern and expert upholstery for the seats. Wonderful accent or occasional chairs.
The pierced strapwork splat is exceptional, with its shaped crest and trapezoidal slipseat over the leopard-print upholstery. The chairs are raised on squared legs joined by an H-stretcher.
