About the Item
This pair of 19th Century Queen Anne side chairs with rush seats are in fine condition. This pair presents so beautifully with the maple wood, which has developed a fine patina over the years. The pair of chairs feature oak and maple. They are English, from the second half of the 19th century. The appraiser says they date to 1850.
Each chair with yoke crest, pierced vasiform splat, rush-covered trapezoidal seats that are raised on baluster-turned front legs with pad feet, joined with reel-and-ball-turned front stretcher and double box stretchers. Unmarked. The seats include two country style cushions with checkered pattern that are not included.
Overall height: Chairs are 38 inches tall, seat height: 18 inches; seat width: 20 inches; seat depth 12 inches.
