Baker Far East Collection Vintage Chair Ebonized Wood in Style of Michael Taylor
About the Item
Highly collectible, this is a piece from the Baker Far East Collection of the 1950s. It is unique. The chair was designed as part of a two-piece set with a desk. It has all of the graceful design style of Michael Taylor with the distinctive walnut back and the squared corners on the seat. The seat does not have the original cane, but this chair has wonderful potential to be returned to its original condition. The frame is sturdy and the chair lives up to its name and Baker quality, but in need of a bit of conservancy or light restoring. The condition is fair. It is seldom seen, a rare piece that will not last.
Baker Furniture's Far East Collection debuted in 1949, and today, some of the pieces from the line are sought after and highly collectible.
