Pair of Leopard Pattern Federal Chippendale 19th Century Mahogany Side Chairs

About the Item

Statement seating is the motivation to acquire this set of versatile chairs. The details, the nod to contemporary styling and American craftsmanship make this set of New England chairs special. They were produced in the late 19th Century, transitional Chippendale Federal style chairs. The mahogany patina has developed over time to the deepest tone. The set is solid and sturdy. A highlight is the contemporary twist afforded by the leopard pattern and expert upholstery for the seats. Wonderful accent or occasional chairs. The pierced strapwork splat is exceptional, with its shaped crest and trapezoidal slipseat over the leopard-print upholstery. The chairs are raised on squared legs joined by an H-stretcher. Sidechairs are 39 inches high, 24 inches wide and 20 inches deep There is a complementary armchair in the same pattern among our listings.
