19th Century Ovoid Shaped Breche Violette Marble Federal Mahogany Coffee Table
About the Item
The novel shape and color of this Breccia marble coffee table will turn heads and transform a living or work space. This vintage Federal ovoid marble-top and inlaid mahogany or cherrywood coffee table will create a splash of color and excitement. It is a rare auction find, and you will not see many others. The shape and color of the marble are the thing.
Our appraiser says it was possibly assembled in the 20th Century, from 19th and earlier, 20th Century parts.
The variegated salmon-colored marble top has notched ends and is perfectly fitted to its corresponding frame. The base features bellflower inlay at the tops of the squared tapering legs that rest on casters.
The dimensions are 19 1/2 inches tall, 55 inches wide and 28 inches deep.
The table is sturdy and shows some signs of age and use on the legs that could be corrected with a bit of conservancy. Please see pictures. This is a rare find and a treasure that will fit easily into many design settings..
