About the Item

This incredible set of six chairs designed by Geraldo de Barros (1923-1998) and manufactured by Unilabor has a frame in solid rosewood with cane backrests and seats. Because it is a less dense material, the delicate cane weave for furniture gives the pieces lightness and visual but material. In 1954, De Barros and a Dominican Priest founded a cooperative furniture design company called Unilabor. De Barros designed and projected furniture based on his constructive references related to Concrete Art. The pieces designed by de Barros usually have a light structure in solid rosewood or iron, which became a characteristic of Unilabor's production, with fine shapes in its designs to use its materials better. The furniture was comfortable and elegant, reflecting in its structure the ingenuity of the author.
