About the Item

A beautiful set of six original French Art Deco tall back blonde wood dining chairs attributed to Maurice Jallot. Tall elegant backs with curvilinear top crest and shield shape lower backrest, featuring elegant tapered tubular front legs and sculptural splay back legs. An ebonized inset accent on the top of the leg gives this chair a very architectural feel. These chairs are skillfully designed, well crafted and of solid construction The original cushion seats and backs in green naugahyde upholstery are of the period. Although they are in good vintage condition and can be used as they are, for some people they may need re-upholstery.     Refinished. Wear consistent with age and use. Nice lacquer finish w/ slight imperfections. Light blonde wood with some subtle darker areas due to the end grain /cross cut reveal. A few mottled age, seam or grain related areas here or there as shown. Original period cushion seats and backs.

A beautiful set of six original French Art Deco tall back blonde wood and nickeled bronze dining chairs, attributed to Rene Prou. Tall elegant backs with curvilinear top crest and shield shape lower backrest, featuring elegant sculptural cabriole front legs and tapered splay back legs. An inset nickeled bronze side bar flanks and accents the back rest, granting this chair a very unusual and unique style. These chairs are skillfully designed, well crafted and of solid construction. The cushion seats and backs in desert taupe/ mauve color naugahyde upholstery are in good vintage condition but are original and of the period.
