This is an antique carriage stool. An English, walnut and silk cotton raised fireside foot rest, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1840.

Set at an angle, the wide cushion traditionally stuffed for comfort
Finished with a diamond pattern textile, finished with matched brocade trim
Raised upon a set of ogee bracket feet with sash aprons to centre
Remnant of a previous upholsterer can be observed upon the inside of the frame
This is a delightful antique carriage stool, with a colourfully upholstered angled cushion in the traditional manner. Pleasingly tasteful and of generous proportion. Solid joints and construction, delivered ready for the home.
