Early 20th C. birdseye maple "Thebes" stool in an Egyptian Revival style.
This example has been finished with a birdseye maple seat, a rare and elevated take on more commonly seen in oak. Rooted in the Egyptian Revival movement, the silhouette draws from ancient motifs, translated with a sculptural delicacy. The turned legs are tightly grouped and rhythmically spaced, giving the piece a sense of visual lift and ceremonial presence.
