About the Item

This beautiful cherry Chippendale, ball and claw stool is a bit more unique in size than most. Build in an almost square dimension, this wonderfully carved stool frame holds a meticulously done needlepoint cover. Marked on the backside by the artist, the top, which has springs inside the cushion frame, indicates that it was created in 1936. The frame in which is sits, is made of solid cherry and is of the same date as the needlepoint, or slightly earlier. The needlework is tastefully done in that the composition of flowers is evenly dispersed across the top of the stool and the color palette is delightfully soft, muted colors, making this a great addition to so many room decors. From Shabby Chic, to French Cottage or just a wonderful, eclectic grouping, this stool is a must have!
