1950s European Armchair in the style of Jean Prouve

About the Item

A distinctive looking armchair constructed of oak, lacquered metal and leather in the style of Jean Prouve. The leather cushions are wine colored with contrasting piping, the frame which is a black lacquer tubular metal for the arms and legs that end with brass glides. The profile is a slight boomerang form with a nicely patinated finish to the oak. The chair was purchased by the client in Paris, the origin, maker and designer are unknown to us. A usual chair that we have not seen before and would make a statement in any decor.

    Wear consistent with age and use. Normal wear to all the surfaces, nice patina to the lacquer on the arms, this is an all original condition piece that presents very well.
