Pair of 1950s California Design Iron and Tropical Hardwood Side Chairs
About the Item
Pair of iron and tropical hardwood side chairs, hairpin wrought iron frames with wooden seats and backs in a rounded tapered triangle form. The wood is a rich red-brown with a slight black grain. The welded iron frames have a hairpin front wrapping back into a single bar with a round metal glide. A nice blend of the crisp sharpness of the black metal against the richness of the wood. The style reflects the work of the early 1950s Modernists like Luther Conover.
