Acerbis Due Più with Mongolia goat fur Lounge Chair by Nanda Vigo
About the Item
Featuring aesthetics that speak a language of the Future,
the Due Più armchair can be considered one of Nanda Vigo’s
manifesto-projects, the synthesis of her two souls: her esprit de
géométrie evident in the light-reflecting minimal metal structure
and her eccentric and pioneering spirit. A surprising and
enigmatic object with a unique physiognomy conferred by the
use of the two rollers that seem to float. Although its appearance
suggests otherwise, all three modes of use are surprisingly
ergonomic and comfortable: regular sitting, side sitting with one
arm resting on the upper roller, and reverse sitting, in which the
roller-back becomes the perfect support for the forearms. It is
reinterpreted today with a steel frame and fur recovered from
food industry waste, in a logic of circular economy that makes it
compatible with the contemporary ethos.
Back and seat
The seat and back are padded with single-density polyurethane
foam in a Ø19 cm cylindrical shape upholstered in Mongolia goat
fur in white, black and rust. This upholstery gives the rollers a
voluminous elegant effect.
Structure
Sled frame in Ø3 cm tubular metal with chrome finish. Plastic
feet.

Gubi Pacha Lounge Chair with Arm Designed by Pierre Paulin
By Pierre Paulin, Gubi
Located in New York, NY
Left or right arm.
Price listed for starting fabric.
Curvaceous, soft and low-slung, the Pacha lounge chair is a joyfully modernist creation which embraces both extreme comfort and effortless versatility. Iconic designer Pierre Paulin’s vision was to create a sensation of ‘sitting on clouds’. A little ahead of its time in 1975, the modular Pacha Collection is finally coming into its own today. While the overall feel is organic and hyper-relaxed, Paulin’s obsession for ergonomic precision and craftsmanship can only be fully appreciated by sitting in one of his striking creations. Taking up very little floor space, it is extraordinarily comfortable, and there is also a choice between a fixed or swiveling base. Paulin’s vision of sitting in an entire cloud formation is made possible by the many modular combinations available. The Pacha Ottoman provides extra comfort for the Lounge Chair, or even as an informal seat of its own. Mix and match Pacha Sofa...

The “Blocco” seat / pouf, designed with such purpose in 1970, has got now a fresh re-edition with the same function but with a more joyful spirit by offering colorful covers. Have a nice seat!
Nanda Vigo said about "Blocco":
"Many elements called “furniture” are needed that actually remain “fixed”, once set, to the well-being. I've always rejected the tendency to overload space; therefore I have always worked to the limit of need."
NANDA VIGO, born in Milan in 1936, lives in East Africa and works in Milan. She showed an interest in art at a very early age, when she had the opportunity to spend time with Filippo de Pisis, a family friend, and to study the architecture of Giuseppe Terragni, in which she immediately noticed the subtle employment of natural light. She studied architecture at the Ecole Polytechnique in Lausanne, worked as an intern in San Francisco, then returned to Italy where she opened her own studio in Milan.
The underlying characteristic of the work has always been the relationship between light and space, which she has developed in a series of “environments” that blend architecture and design. In 1959 she began to visit the studio of Lucio Fontana and got to know that artists who founded the Azimut Gallery in Milan: Piero Manzoni, Enrico Castellani and Vincenzo Agnetti. During that period, she developed relations with the artists of the Zero group in Germany, the Netherlands and France, as a result of which her work was shown in more than 400 solo and group exhibitions throughout Europe.
Between 1964 and 1966 she participated in some thirteen Zero exhibitions, including “Nul 65” at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, and “Zero: An Exhibition of European Experimental Art” at the Modern Art Gallery in Washington D.C.. She was the curator of the legendary exhibition “Zero avantgarde” in 1965 in Fontana’s studio in Milan, at which some 28 artists were represented. In 1964 she created Utopie with Lucio Fontana for the Triennale. Again at the Triennale, in 1973 she organized a performance at which architects and artists freely intervened: it's considered to have been the first happening at the event.
In 1974 she received the New York Award for the Industrial Design for the Golden Gate lamp...
