About the Item

If you are looking for unique lounge chairs utilizing exotic materials that are also sought after by collectors and investors of art and design, this pair of Brazilian Modern lounge chairs by Móveis Cimo Brazil, circa 1960s, are the perfect choice for you. Both chairs are signed with original labels. Perfect for the vintage collector who loves pieces to be fully 'original', this pair of club chairs by Móveis Cimo have their original leatherette upholstery and original Móveis Cimo labels. Leatherette is a beautiful burgundy color which pairs incredibly with the deep grained exotic Jacaranda Rosewood. Brazilian Modern is fantastic alternative to the usual suspects seen in Mid-Century Modern design furniture. The use of clean lines and minimal form on this pair of CIMO easy chairs make it appropriate for a number of locations, from classic and contemporary homes to elegant executive offices to hip startups. Fits wonderfully in all styles of spaces, from Post-Modern to Hollywood Regency to Traditional to Classical. Works great as a reading chair, recliner, chaise longue, fireplace / fireside chair, nursing chair, lobby chair, or bedside chair. Consider pairing with other Brazilian designs such as Percival Lafer, Giuseppe Scapinelli, Sergio Rodrigues, Joaquim Tenreiro, Jorge Zalszupin, Carlo Hauner and Martin Eisler. Contact us for details on our large collection of Brazilian Modern designs. MEASUREMENTS: H 26.5" x W 39" x D 32" Seat Height: 15.25" Seat Depth: 22" Arm Height: 19" CONDITION: Good vintage condition with age appropriate wear. The chairs were "lightly" restored, meaning the Rosewood was cleaned and hand polished and the original fabric was cleaned. We did not refinish the wood completely and we did not reupholster, however we took these beautiful original chairs and made them ready for immediate use while keeping all of the gorgeous originality they posses. Age and wear include scratches and scuffs, nicks, indentations and marks, loose threads and imperfections, some minor losses including possible missing buttons which left slight indentations to upholstery. Original labels are present on each chair. Ready for immediate use.

Monumental Pair of Fiberglass 'Jennifer' Lounge Chairs by Michael Taylor, 1970s
By Michael Taylor
Located in Los Angeles, CA
So many incredible aspects to this pair of monumentally sized 'Jennifer' lounge chairs by Michael Taylor, circa 1970s, we will attempt to list them all in this description. First, and most noticeably, is the size. They are huge, humungous, monumental, enormous... I mean, they are incredibly large. You can easily fit two people and a dog in a single chair and have room to cuddle, snuggle, hang-out, watch a movie, have drinks in an intimate setting, or even fall asleep comfortably cradled. It's not just how wide they are but also the depth also provides a dramatic increase in overall 'lounging' footprint of the chairs. These chairs are so large, they shouldn't even be called chairs, they are somewhere between a loveseat and a daybed - perhaps they should be called lovebeds instead? The second thing that we absolutely love about these chairs is its design history. The Jennifer chair is one of Michael's earliest designs. Michael designed it for actress Jennifer Jones (Mrs. Norton Simon), she asked him for a chair that she could curl her legs in and relax and this monumental chair...
