Børge Mogensen “Model 2254” Lounge Chair and "2248" Footstool, Denmark 1950s

About the Item

Danish lounge chair model 2254 and matching ottoman model 2248 designed by worldwide known and appreciated furniture designer Børge Mogensen for manufacturer Fredericia, 1950's Denmark. Mogensen was one of the most important among a generation of furniture designers who made the concept of “Danish Modern” known throughout the world. His designs are considered high-end Danish modern design. This Mid-century modern lounge chair features a sled-base solid oak frame, caned seat with adjustable caned back. We have replaced the webbing and reupholstered the cushions in durable woolen upholstery. The cushions are attached with leather straps which prevent the cushions to slip. Fedricia branding and number present. This chair is the result of playful experiments with squares in various combinations. Mogensen designed the unpretentious and lightweight series – that unites simplicity with strength and comfort – in 1958. The 2254 armchair is particularly suitable for use as a reading chair thanks to the headrest and adjustable back. A high-quality design piece that will make a statement in any modern environment.
