Børge Mogensen, a Pair of "Spanish Chairs", Old Version, Danish Modern, 1960s

About the Item

A fantastic pair and examples of the Danish design icon, "The Spanish Chair", designed by Børge Mogensen for Frederica Møbelfabrik in Denmark. Model "BM2226". The Spanish Chair was designed in 1958 after a trip to Spain. Børge Mogensen had seen a traditional and special type of chair several times, he loved the design so much that he created The Spanish Chair. An armchair inspired by the same chair design, combining it with Børge Mogensen’s earlier work and own touch. This pair is the old version from the beginning of the 1960s and remained in its original condition that contains an really amazing patina. The overall impression of these midcentury chairs are really good. This pair will complement many interior styles. A modern, Classic, Scandinavian or an Art Deco home decor. With a heavy focus on functionality, this design style leans toward modernism, while incorporating coziness. The Scandinavian design style aims to provide a way for people to live more sustainably and in harmony with one another.
