About the Item

Made in Italy in the 1970s, the construction, materials, fit / finish and design are best by far. -- First and foremost, the frame is rigid thanks to the quality of materials and overall engineering of the assemblage. -- It's balanced correctly so not to creek or put too much leverage where the seat meets the back. -- The back cushions and headrest are actually bolted into the shells instead of just being screwed or clipped on. -- Actual genuine leather instead of vinyl -- The hardware is more decorative and Industrial which elevates the overall quality and look of the chair There's also plenty of extra function to compliment the form. The chair can lock into both an upright and reclined position. pullout the lock arm and you're free to rock back against the spring tension. Especially helpful is the pitch pin, which when rotated, can gradually dial you in to the perfect tilt of the chair while in the upright position. This seemingly minor adjustment mechanism makes the chair immensely more customizable. Well, now that we've established that Cofemo made superb chairs, let's talk about the restoration. We completely disassembled the chair and ottoman to detail and make minor repairs to the beechwood shells The gorgeous, tufted cognac / bronze orange genuine leather cushions were cleaned and coated with two fresh coats of leather dye that matched the original color. The dye was clear-coated and all of the buttons were replaced and re-tied. Finally, the aluminum bases were chrome polished and everything was reassembled. Everything was restored to excellent overall vintage condition with only very minor imperfections remaining. Dimensions below. Chair: 32.5” Wide x 34.5” deep x 38” high (14.5” seat height) Ottoman: 22.5” wide x 18.5” deep x 15.75”high.

Additions or alterations made to the original: Leather has been re-dyed and sealed. Replacements made: New buttons. Wear consistent with age and use. Excellent vintage condition. Detailed top to bottom. Only very minor imperfections on chrome and beech wood shells. One minor blemish on the seat cushion leather (see pic).
