Georg Kofoed Attributed Danish 1940s Lounge Chair
About the Item
Very cool and rare 1940s lounge chair attributed to Master Furniture Maker Georg Kofoed of Copenhagen. We love the stance and the overall dynamic design lines that are very reminiscent of Viggo Boesen's iconic designs. The chair is not marked and is not documented in anyway as is the case with most Georg Kofoed furniture and that always make the origin of the piece somewhat speculative. This uncertainty is reflected in the price as the few documented designs from the 40's are fetching prices in the 10's of thousands of dollars.
This beautiful chair has a smooth back and has been reupholstered at a later point. We recommend replacing the fabric and can easily reupholster the chair should you wish. Overall very good condition.
