Pair of 1940's Viggo Boesen Attributed Danish Lounge Chairs in Beech
About the Item
Sublime pair of lounge chairs made by Slagelse Mobelvaerk of Denmark in the 1940s with the design attributed to Viggo Boesen. These elegant chairs display the same leg design seen on other of Boesen chairs and the wooden armrests in solid stained beech are also typical for many of his iconic designs. The chairs are in overall very good condition showing appropriate age wear remaining solid and sturdy. The original fabric shows wear and the chairs should be reupholstered. We offer reupholstery services for these chairs at a very competitive price.
Slagelse was a prolific manufacturer from the 1930s and through the 1970s and manufactured many designs for Viggo Boesen as well as Flemming and Mogens Lassen - making some of the most valuable and sought after furniture of the midcentury era.
