About the Item

We present this beautiful pair of Chairs by Nana Ditzel for Selig that have been reupholstered in new classic Hallingdal 65 (colorway 126) Danish wool. The shape of this chair is so generous and luxurious. We wanted to upholster them in the Hallingdal that Nana Ditzel created for the Kvadrat. A rare and exceptional pair of lounge chairs designed by Nana Ditzel for Selig — newly upholstered in Kvadrat Hallingdal 65 wool, colorway 126. This classic textile, co-designed by Ditzel in 1965, is one of the most iconic Danish fabrics of the 20th century and complements the sculptural softness of these chairs perfectly. The frames have been fully restored to excellent vintage condition. There are no chips, cracks, or veneer loss — each chair presents beautifully, with the warm, clean lines of Danish craftsmanship. Both retain their original Selig manufacturer badges, attesting to their authenticity. These chairs offer a deep, luxurious sit with sweeping arms and generous proportions — ideal for use as accent chairs in a refined interior, whether in a modern living room, library, study, or bedroom. Dimensions: 26.5"Height x 30" Width 20" Depth Seat Height: 15.5" Nana Ditzel (1923–2005) was one of the few prominent female voices in the male-dominated world of Mid-Century Danish design. Trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Ditzel brought a uniquely humanist and organic sensibility to her work, balancing architectural lines with comfort and playfulness. Her designs were often experimental — embracing new materials, vibrant colors, and curves that softened the era’s sometimes rigid modernism. Today, her work is collected globally and continues to influence contemporary design thinking. This pair reflects that ethos — generous, welcoming, and beautifully proportioned — making them ideal as statement lounge chairs in a sophisticated interior, from bedroom to reading nook to formal living space
