About the Item

A pair of ‘Noodle’ chairs designed by Augusto Betti for Habitat Faenza in 1967. These chairs feature a unique curved profile and retain their original red corduroy fabric. Unmarked. Sourced in Italy, 1960s. Augusto Betti (1919-2013) was an Italian artist and designer who began his career with traditional training at the Faenza ceramics factory. In the 1960s he began to experiment with resins and plastics, which would lead to the production of some of his most iconic space age designs. He later taught Professional Artistic Design at the Ballardini Institute in Faenza and held the chair of Theory of Perception at the Institute of Artistic Industries in Faenza.

    Wear consistent with age and use. Good vintage condition. Reupholstery required. Several tears in the upholstery, and foam replacement needed. We have elected to sell it in its current state so the end user can select their fabric.
