About the Item

This "President's" Art Deco rattan Mamma and Papa lounge chair set with tapered legs named after the FDR using the same type of furniture aboard his presidential yacht the USS Potomac beginning in the late 1930s. The set includes a wing back and round back seat chair with similar but unique designs perfect for a mama and papa chair set in the living room. "mama" Round back Chair dimensions: 25 in Lx 23 inches W 38inches in height 21 inches in seat depth and 18inches from the seat the floor "Papa" Wingback Chair dimensions: 43in H x 26 in w 26 in L 18in Seat height 21 seat depth Restored to like new for you. Tropical Sun Rattan was started in 1934 at 117 West Colorado Blvd in Pasadena. By 1938 we had showrooms in the Los Angeles and San Francisco furniture marts and have been selling rattan furniture ever since. We moved to the famous Melrose Ave in the 1970s and combined our storefront with Harvey's in West Hollywood. “Harvey literally wrote the book on rattan furniture in 1997.” We buy, refinish and sell vintage rattan and have the biggest stock of vintage rattan in the world! We have a selection of rattan designed by Milo Baughman, Paul Lazlo, Paul Frankl, Shirley Ritts, and Tropical Sun Rattan. Custom cushions C.O.M. (Customers Own Material) are included in the prices. Supply the fabric and we have the cushions made for you. All rattan, bamboo and wicker furniture has been painstakingly refurbished to the highest standards using the best materials. All refinishing is done by rattan workers with over 30 years' experience. Every wrapping and joint has been inspected by “The Rattan Man” Harvey Schwartz. He guarantees you the finest product available for years to come for your home or office. Harvey Schwartz is the leading expert in vintage rattan and author of “Rattan Furniture: Tropical Comfort Throughout the House”. Signed copies are available on request for $39.99 USD.
