Tijuca Lounge Chair and Ottoman by Jean Gillon, Brazil Circa 1960

About the Item

The Brazilian Jangada Chair with ottoman, designed by Jean Gillon, embodies the essence of comfort and sophistication with a distinct touch of Brazilian craftsmanship. Inspired by the traditional fishing boats of northeastern Brazil, known as "jangadas," Gillon's design seamlessly blends form and function, paying homage to the country's rich cultural heritage. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the chair features a sturdy Brazilian hard wood frame, reminiscent of the robust construction of the jangadas, ensuring both durability and elegance. The frame's sleek lines and curved accents echo the fluidity of ocean waves, creating a sense of movement and harmony. The chair's plush cushions, upholstered in luxurious Brazilian leather, invite you to sink into relaxation, providing unparalleled comfort and support. The ergonomic design cradles the body, allowing you to unwind in style after a long day. Complimenting the chair is the matching ottoman, offering the perfect spot to elevate your feet and indulge in moments of sheer relaxation. Like its counterpart, the ottoman boasts the same exquisite craftsmanship and attention to detail, completing the ensemble. Whether placed in a contemporary living room, a cozy reading nook, or a sun-drenched terrace overlooking the ocean, the Brazilian Jangada Chair with Ottoman by Jean Gillon is sure to become the focal point of any space, inviting you to experience the ultimate in comfort and luxury with a touch of Brazilian flair.
