Elegant Cut Velvet and Painted Gilded Louis XVI Style French Sofa Loveseat
About the Item
A very fine French 19th century Louis XVI style hand cream painted and carved sofa, loveseat or canapé upholstered in original diamond cut fabric in very good condition as well as of high quality! The finely carved frame having padded arm supports and seats, with ribbon tied flower-head cresting and leaf tipped borders. Paris, circa 1860-1870. The beautifully painted cream and giltwood frames have carved beading, petals and acanthus leaves, turned and fluted supports, and original beautiful cut velvet upholstery. Has matching bergeres and side chairs also listed separately.
