View AllPost Modern Brown Striped Wood and Brass Accent Tuxedo Armchair
By Milo Baughman
Located in Chattanooga, TN
Beautifully preserved Post Modern tuxedo armchair. This vintage 1980s tuxedo armchair is in time capsule condition. A tuxedo chair simply means that the arms are the same height as the back giving it a cube-like shape. These proportions create a tightly tailored look — hence the tuxedo likeness. The thick seat cushions and pillows make these pieces supremely comfortable. This is vintage furniture that is meant to be lived in. The arms are upholstered with solid oak and metallic gold colored trim. Two casters act as thee front legs while the two back legs are standard tapered wood. A matching standard sofa and love seat...

Tulip Group Sofa in Rosewood by K M Wilkins for G-Plan of England
By Percival Lafer, G Plan Furniture, Thonet, Charles and Ray Eames
Located in Chattanooga, TN
Matching pair of lounge chairs also available and sold separately (see last pic).
This incredible sofa was purchased new in Glasgow, Scotland in 1970. We acquired from the original owners who kept it in pristine condition. Designed by K.M. Wilkins for G-Plan of England, this line is appropriately named the "Tulip Group". Wilkins also designed the the well known Housemaster Chair, often misattributed to Ib Kofod Larsen. The "Tulip" design is demonstrated by the rosewood panels which are molded into curves that mimic a blossoming flower. Offered almost exclusively in teak, this rosewood set is truly a rare find. The rich, amber-red panels are perfectly complimented by the chrome hardware and velvet fabric. The luxuriously soft velvet is in amazing condition. The color is difficult to describe, but in our opinion, it's a cross between olive-green and taupe-brown. Of course the refraction of light on velvet can magnify or minimize the tones and highlights depending on the angle and environment.
The sofa hovers on its original Magnum Orbit chrome...

Mid-Century Modern Black Faux Leather Love Seat Sofa by Taylor Chair Co. Style D
By Harvey Probber, Taylor Chair co., Dunbar Furniture, Edward Wormley
Located in Topeka, KS
Handsome Mid-Century Modern love seat length sofa in black vinyl faux leather upholstery and walnut base in the style of Wormley for Dunbar or Harvey Probber. It is in wonderful vintage condition. We believe the black vinyl to be fairly new. The walnut base does have age appropriate little nicks and dings. Please see photos, circa 1960s.
It is hard to say who designed and produced this fabulously gorgeous and simple streamline Mid-Century Modern style sofa first. Was is Edward Wormley for Dunbar? Was it Harvey Probber or Florence Knoll? Or, did Taylor Chair Company, the maker of this particular love seat, actually make their rendition first? Does it matter? You will love the lines and materials used in this two-seat love seat Lawson shape sofa with a tight back and two loose seat cushions. It is covered in a very nice and natural looking black faux leather vinyl. So close to the real thing its is hard to tell the difference. And sets on a walnut Parsons’ style base. Simple but very handsome.
Taylor Chair Company was founded by Benjamin Fitch in 1816 Bedford, Ohio. He originally made split-bottom chairs in his cabin. In 1841 one of Mr. Fitch’s employees, William O. Taylor, married Mr. Fitch’s daughter. William quickly took over active management of the company and by late 1940s the company became known as W.O. Taylor Factory. After a fire in the original location the factory moved. In 1871 W.O. Taylor’s son, Vincent A. Taylor, took the helm and the name was changed to W.O. Taylor and Son as they became an award-winning company. In 1885 the company incorporated becoming a public company known as The Taylor Chair...
