Danish Mid-Century Rocking Chair, c.1960 – Attributed to Børje Johansson A beautifully designed Danish mid-century rocking chair dating to around 1960 and attributed to noted Scandinavian designer Børje Johansson. This piece exemplifies the elegance and practicality of Scandinavian furniture design of the period, combining clean lines, natural materials, and comfort.. The chair has been recently reupholstered in a striking Orla Kiely fabric, giving it a contemporary twist while retaining its timeless mid-century character. The cushions are fully removable and upholstered to a high standard, with the back cushion carefully tailored around the chair’s frame for a seamless finish. The seat cushion is made from firm yet comfortable fire-retardant foam, ensuring both support and durability. All cushions meet UK fire and safety standards (2010), offering peace of mind as well as style. Crafted with a solid, heavy base, the chair delivers a smooth and stable rocking motion. Its proportions are generous enough for lounging yet compact enough to be versatile within the home.
