Dondolo Rocking Chair

About the Item

Vintage rocking chair designed by Leonardi and Franca Stagi one evening in 1967. Continuous tape in double sheet of fiberglass and polyester resin corrugated on the inner face. The object is defined by a continuous ribbon of polyester resin that, as it curves in space, ends up acquiring all the necessary functions: it defines the seat, then moving up and back the backrest, then moving down and reaching the ground it defines the curvilinear support that, as it passes under the seat, manages its oscillation, and ends forward as a footrest. The continuous curvilinear figure finds its resilient capacity in the corrugated profile with fiberglass ribs that characterizes the cross section of the belt. Since the vintage rocking chair has no armrests to aid in the movement, shifting the weight towards the end of the footrest is crucial to the movement of the chair.
