About the Item
This beautifully restored Paul Frankl-inspired, rare three-strand reverse pretzel arm rattan rocking chair with white cushions. This chair features a steam-bent rattan frame.
This rare pretzel rocking chair was made in the late 1940s. I sold this chair originally in 1987 covered in this fabulous Schumacher Flamingo fabric. I purchased it back in 2015 and now reselling it. The cushions and fabric are still in great condition, used very rarely in a third summer home. I'd be happy to make you new cushions; I just need six yards of fabric.
Tropical Sun Rattan was started in 1934 at 117 West Colorado Blvd in Pasadena. By 1938 we had showrooms in the Los Angeles and San Francisco furniture marts and have been selling rattan furniture ever since. We moved to the famous Melrose Ave in the 1970s and combined our storefront with Harvey's in West Hollywood. “Harvey wrote the book on rattan furniture in 1997.” We buy, refinish and sell vintage rattan and have the biggest stock of vintage rattan in the world! We have a selection of rattan designed by Milo Baughman, Paul Lazlo, Paul Frankl, Shirley Ritts, and Tropical Sun Rattan.
Custom cushions C.O.M. (Customers Own Material) are included in the prices. Supply the fabric and we have the cushions made for you. All rattan, bamboo and wicker furniture has been painstakingly refurbished to the highest standards using the best materials. Rattan workers do all refinishing with over 30 years' of experience. Every wrapping and joint has been inspected by “The Rattan Man” Harvey Schwartz. He guarantees you the finest product available for years to come for your home or office.
