About the Item

The Classic swing rocking chair was designed in 1956 by the architect Hans Olsen, who conducted extensive experiments in his quest to come up with original furniture designs. The chair, also known as Model 532a, was originally produced by the Danish furniture manufacturer Brdr. Juul Kristensen. What makes the swing rocking chair stand out is its light appearance and consummate details. The effortless design of the rocking chair demonstrates the virtues that typified furniture design in the 1950s, and which Hans Olsen so expertly united in his masterly designs: the trinity of comfort, functionality and aesthetics. The swing rocking chair has been specially selected for the Warm Nordic range as a tribute to iconic Nordic design, which adds such invaluable diversity and depth to modern interior design.
