About the Item

This is a very good example of a late Victorian wicker rocking chair that that is detailed in scrolling wicker and a diamond pattern, in addition to a swooping-shaped skirt. The chair is in overall remarkably good original condition for its age and use. (It was repainted in the 20th c.) A cushion is included as a courtesy. The rocking chair is newly obtained from a Beverly Hills estate and is ready for another 100 years of use. This chair could be integrated into beach- coastal interior or placed on a Southern veranda or porch for that lazy summer afternoon nap. Maybe used as the perfect mint-julep sipping spot. **Please contact MJH Design Arts for additional shipping quotes to the South and East Coast.

Bar Harbor Wicker Arm Chair
Located in Pasadena, CA
This is a classic Bar Harbor style wicker chair that dates to the first half of the twentieth century. The chair was reupholstered in a cherry red fabric and repainted at some point in the late twentieth century. The chair is in very good condition; the upholstery, although showing sign of use, is in very acceptable condition. We have decided not to restore the chair as the indications of wear are signs of original desirable patina and add character to the chair. This chair would work well in both an indoors casual setting, as well as outdoors under a covered veranda or terrace. We have listed several additional antique and vintage wicker...

Victorian Wicker Loveseat
Located in Miami Beach, FL
Part of a large collection of ornate Victorian wicker that was collected over the years by a Senator's wife. This rolled woven arm loveseat has wicker curlicues in the open areas under the side arm rests. Across the back are alternating lattice weaving and woven portions. The woven skirt comes from the top of the back leg to a mid-point on the front leg and returns to a shorter curved skirt in the center front. It is a delightful example of a late Victorian love seat.
