Handsome vintage Modern black leather 6-piece modular sectional Tappo sofa by John Mascheroni for Vecta Contract. It retains its original tags. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. Specifically, all of the leather has been cleaned & reconditioned but there is a small poke or indention (not a hole) on one back, a couple of seats have some crazing in the leather, & the leather shows signs of age-related use in places. He had many influences over the years including Hans Wegner, Arne Jacobson, Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Mies van der Rohe, & Jean-Michel Frank but stated that he was most influenced by Charles & Ray Eames & George Nelson and their awareness of the human body and the ability to design furnishings ergonomically appropriate. His famed 1966 design of the “Tubo Table” is in a collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. Today he is a spirited 90 years old and has been working with Lazar Furniture...
