A Swedish banquette sofa hand-scraped to original chalky white Gustavian paint with traces of old gilt from the 19th century. The upholstery fabric is a crisp white Belgian linen. A very beautiful and sturdy piece. The arm height is 28". The Gustavian style, named after King Gustav III of Sweden, is a restrained interpretation of the French Louis XV and Louis XVI style. King Gustav III was enamored with the neoclassical style and therefore created his own interpretation for Sweden. We at Maison & Co. love Swedish Gustavian furniture and this sofa is one of our favorite pieces.
