This is an antique double spoon back settee. An English, rosewood three seater ornate sofa, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1840.
Striking form and a treat of carved craftsmanship
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout
Superb show frame presents deep caramel hues and fine grain interest
Professionally upholstered in the traditional manner with deep button finish
Double spoon back form, with short arms terminating in scrolled knuckles
Centre skilfully adorned with a pierced, relief carved scroll wreath
Dressed in a quality taupe coloured velvet upholstery with matched brocade trim
Generously stuffed seat cushion with a pronounced centre seat
Delicate craftsmanship accentuates the show frame, with foliate carved knees
Prominent scrolled knuckles host showcase the appealing figuring
