Antique Victorian Eastlake Settee
About the Item
This darling piece is the epitome of classic Victorian style. It has been impeccably preserved and is a true testament to the pride and character of classic American home furnishings at the peak of the late 19th Century. Circa 1870-1880 this classic settee is nearly 150 years old. Professionally reupholstered in 1976 with a multi-colored floral chenille tapestry indicative of the time period. The batting is comprised of 80% horse hair and 20% cotton. Beautifully carved walnut frame, lathe-turned legs on castors. This piece was formerly used primarily for display and is in great antique condition.
A remarkable piece of history that is sure to add that special touch of nostalgia to your sitting room, foyer, boudoir, the foot of a bed, walk-in closet, cozied up next to the fireplace, or practically any area of your home. It’s petite nature makes it a versatile piece for any space.
