1999 Giancarlo Piretti for Krueger International Xylon Chairs in Cherry Beech
About the Item
These are 'Xylon' Chairs, designed by Giancarlo Piretti for Krueger International in 1997. The listed price includes one chair, and we have several chairs available for purchase. The chairs have a chromed-steel frame, and have seats and backs formed from bent beechwood ply in a Cherry-hued stain. The backs are articulated and move with the user, offering a comfortable seating experience. There are aluminum exposed details that give the design an industrial look. Perhaps best of all, the chairs are stackable and are rather lightweight.
Each chair measures 18 inches deep, 17 inches wide, and 32 inches high. They have a seat height of 17.5 inches. Several of the chairs have some slight veneer damage at their edges. The chromed-steel legs show some light scratches and scuffs. Overall, these chairs are in good condition. Please see photos.

Giancarlo Piretti
Giancarlo Piretti was born in Bologna, Italy, in 1940. He attended art schools there and subsequently taught Interior Design. During that time, he was also designing furniture for Anonima Castelli. He has won numerous awards and has items in many museums, including MoMA, New York. He still lives and works in Bologna with his son, designer Alessandro Piretti.
