Bentwood Chair with arms Model No 14 Art Nouveau Chair Thonet Austria 1890

About the Item

Wonderful bentwood chair, produced by Thonet, this design originally dates from 1859. Made from bent solid and laminated Beech construction with moulded plywood seat. This chair dates from the early 1890s. Model Number 14 Retains the original embossed seat with art nouveau design. Wonderful bentwood loop shaped arms. Lovely patina developed over time. Retains the original paper label to the underside that reads Jacob and Joseph Kohn Wien Austria. This chairs features in the "1000 chair" book. ST1573
