Matched Pair of Chippendale Side Chairs, Massachusetts, Mid 18th Century

About the Item

Beautiful pair of American Chippendale side chairs in with original surface and rush Seats. Likely from Salem Massachusetts these chairs display tight serpentine crests with upswept ears above owl splats flanked by swept stiles; trapezoidal seats having frontal corner blocks above block and vase turned legs terminating in ball feet. These are just a lovely pair.

  • Condition:
    Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Chairs retained the original finish and original rush seat. Some losses to the rush seat on both chais on both chairs but to be expected. It's various age cracks and splits but nothing that has gone through or endangered the chair .
