Pair of antique Hitchcock School side chairs featuring gilt stenciled decoration throughout and to include having newer rush seats, circa 1830. Very bold turning, the gold work on the splat and crest rail is lovely.
Very similar pair in the Henry Ford Museum (see illustrations).
